Well, let's see.
Hi there. My name is Jeci, or Jessica or Jesse (whichever is your preference). I live in New York(not the city) and I'm an artist.
I am first off a filmmaker. I write and direct--really nothing specific, I mean, I mess around with screenplays, short films, fan videos, music videos, and other things. Since I'm still just getting everything gathered, I have nothing worthy to show yet...but I will in short amounts of time.
In my films I dabble with genre. Being neither professional not established, I'm finding my way in film. I may never just settle on a genre (I like to play around), but I am very much interested in perhaps horror or the creepy—dark and traditional, somewhat my motto. Though, like I said, I’m still messing around.
Sometimes when I get bored I’ll write a script. I write my scripts weirdly. No one except me can usually read them, because of the disorganized craziness. I usually take just the back of any available paper, and do a storyboard…but that storyboard is usually each shot out of order with arrows surrounding by my really messy small handwriting and THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of notes on each single frame. So…yeah.
Anyway, other than a filmmaker I am interested in comics. I’ve written a couple of comic book scripts (most like the ones I originally use for my films—as described above—but a couple have been typed up). I’m just putting more emphasis on those lately, also, so many will start to pop up more.
I take my style from many artists that influence me (the list is long), but my panels and pages, and even my basic artistic style, is influenced by simply how I’ve done art since I was little. Though, on the occasion I need a check on panels and pages, I seek advice in the art of Terrance Zdunich, who is much my artistic hero.
On that note, support the art of Terrance Zdunich, and check him out! He really is an immensely talented artist, and even above that an amazing person—very deserving of attention.
Lastly(and to make this quick, I seem to be rambling), I am a photographer. For a long while I would see perfect photography opportunity in my everyday life…now I use this, and I take great pleasure in capturing this on camera. I am influenced by the world around me, nature and everyday life, so the art of working with models is something I am only preparing to venture in to at the moment. But it will happen…soon!
After all that, I can only summarize to say I am an artist. There are of course other things in my life, such as Cross Country, reading, and dance…and also other artistic things I left out (though still just as important), in my haste to stop rambling. These artistic ventures include writing (screenplays, scripts, stories, poems, and—when I feel sketchy—fanfiction) and music (I play clarinet and recorder, am trying to teach myself guitar, I’m planning on teaching band sometime in my life, I’ve conducted my school band a couple times, I write some songs, I’m in marching band and am in love with the idea of being a drum major one day in the far far future).
So, yes. This is me.
…Have I mentioned that I like art?
